WELCOME TO 3B WITH MRS. GONZALEZ!!!

BACKGROUND:
I am Mrs. Gonzalez and I teach the 3rd grade in room 3B. I've been teaching at St. Peter's School for 32 years. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I am also the teacher of 3rd and 4th grade during summer school as well as the director of St. Peter's Summer School. I am looking forward to educating your children during this school year. |

CLASS:
During this year I will be teaching all of the elementary school subjects including Religion, Reading, Mathematics, Spelling, English, Science and Social Studies. The Religion theme for the year is "The Year of the Eucharist." The Prayers to be memorized this year are: Apostles' Creed, Act of Contrition, Grace Before Meals, Hail Mary, Our Father and The Glory Be.

COMMUNICATION:
If you have any questions throughout the school year please feel free to contact me between the hours of 8:15 and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If a conference is needed please send a note or call the office for an appointment that is mutually convenient for both of us.

HOMEWORK:
Homework is essential for the practice of skills that are taught in school. The requirements for 3rd graders is 45 minutes to 1 hour daily. Usually homework is assigned over the weekends and during holiday breaks such as Christmas, Easter and semester break.

TESTING:
A spelling test are given each Monday and Friday. Please check your child's student planner daily for testing days.

DISCIPLINE:
The procedures for 3B's discipline are clearly stated in the Parent's Handbook.

STATEMENT TO PARENTS:
Third grade is the end of the primary grades and the beginning of the middle grades. It is extremely important that you, as parents, take an active role in all aspects of your child's education, including classwork, homework, sports, field trips. Let's make sure that the lines of communication remain open and positive for our children.
