Classes/Programs:

Welcome to 5A!

Teacher:  Ms. Katie Caspersen

Background:
My name is Katie Caspersen and I teach 4B/5A. I have been teaching in the Bay Area for 3 years and this is my first year as a classroom teacher at St. Peter’s, although I was here last year as the Catapult Reading teacher. I am very excited to have the privilege of teaching your children this year.

Classroom Expectations:
1) Always do your best, with what you have, at all times
2) Respect others
3) Take responsibility for your own learning and actions
4) Behave in a safe manner
5) Follow directions the first time
Should there be any commendations or concerns, I will promptly notify parents. Similarly, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at school. I enjoy meeting with the families of all students!

Homework:
Homework is assigned every night, Monday through Friday. You can help ensure that your child completes all assignments by (1) providing a "study space" at home and (2) by checking your child's homework assignment notebook to see that all assignments are done. Homework is also a sign of the topics that are being covered in class.

Every night students are expected to read for at least 30 minutes. Nightly reading will benefit your student in every subject. There is also spelling homework every night and a spelling test each Friday.
