Classes/Programs:

Welcome to 6B - Ms. Suzanne Thomas

WELCOME TO THE 6TH GRADE!

Background:

My name is Ms. Thomas and I teach in 6B.  I have been teaching in the San Francisco Archdiocese for 12 years and this is my second year at St. Peter's.  Although I have taught everything from preschool to college, the majority of my experience has been in the 6th grade.  I love this age group, and am extremely happy to have the privilege of teaching your children.

Class:

This year I will teach the following subjects-

To 6B students: Religion, Spelling, English, Literature, Social Studies, and Art.

To 6A students: Literature and English

Communication:

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Unless it is an emergency I would appreciate a note or a phone call requesting a meeting time so that I will be able to give you and your child my undivided attention.

Homework:

Homework builds study skills, develops responsibility and is an essential part of our academic program.  Every day there are at least one and one half hours of homework assigned.  Homework is only assigned over the weekend or a holiday if a special project needs to be finished. Unless a student is absent I do not accept late homework.

Test:

We will have weekly spelling and literature tests on Fridays.  Tests in other subjects will vary.  Low test scores can be improved by completing a test re-do in the appropriate manner (write each incorrectly answered question and its correct answer 3X), withing the time allotted (usually 2 days).
