You understand and agree to follow the Computer Lab Usage Rules:

• Getting a Computer
  For after school use, use the sign-up sheet in the lab to get a computer. Always check with the Lab Teacher, Mr. Minh, before you take a computer. If you get a computer where the previous user is still logged in, please log that person out and then log in using your user account.
• User Accounts
  When you're working on a computer, log in using your own account. When you are finished, always log out. Keep your password private. If you need a user account or to change your password, see the Lab Teacher.
• File Space
  Every user has her own directory at U: << first letter of first name>>\ Firstname.LastName . This directory is on the server machine called Rome . Anything you save in your directory will be backed-up. Anything you save elsewhere may be lost. For example, Juan Diaz's directory is U:\j\Juan.Diaz.
• Food & Drink
  In order to avoid accidental damage to the equipment, no open food or drink is allowed in the lab.
• Computer set-up
  To keep all the computers the same, please don't try to change their set-up in any way. This includes changing the screen saver, cursors, color schemes, backgrounds, installing or uninstalling software. Don't open email attachments until you check with the Lab Teacher!
• Internet Usage
  The computers in the lab have a web filter which automatically blocks access to objectionable web sites. However, it is not full-proof and it is up to you to avoid "inappropriate" web sites or new groups. These include hate-group, sex, violence, bomb-making, etc. When in doubt apply the "Miss. Butler/Sister Marian Rose" rule. If they wouldn't think it's OK, it's not. Also, no chat rooms allowed.
• Printer Usage
  We have two printers for student use, the high-speed HP black & white laser printer and the slow-speed Epson color printer. The default printer is the HP. Use this one for almost everything. When you ready to print the final version of something in color, use the Epson color printer. The color printer supplies are more expensive than the HP black & white. You will charged $0.50 per glossy color print, lamination included.
• Speakers & Headphones
  Computers no longer have speakers. If you want to listen to sound, please check-out headphones from the Lab Teacher. It two people want to listen together, ask the Lab Teacher for the appropriate equipment. When you're finished, please return the headphones.
• Anything Else
  If you have any other usage questions not covered here, please check with Mr. Minh or Mr. Haggin.
